Others Receiving Votes

With 2 wins against Penn St and Northwestern Michigan Football now has more wins this year than loses and for the second week in a row is included in the "Others Receiving Votes" section. My lucky brother got to see the Penn St game at the Big House. Major envy here. Kentucky Wildcats continue to pounce and are now ranked #8.

38-0

After two miserable weeks for college football, Michigan was able to make good on Hart's promise of victory. It was very nice to see yet another 38-0 shutout of Notre Dame. But even better was not to see a 0 in the wins column. Still no ranking yet not even in the "others receiving votes" section. But that is the way it should be. Next week is Penn St. Might a win there put Michigan in the "others receiving votes" section? On a related note the Kentucky Wildcats are 3-0, beating Louisville in a barn burning. Kentucky is now ranked 23rd. To all my friends in Wildcat country. Go Cats!

at least Notre Dame makes me feel better

I watched Michigan collapse during the Rose Bowl. How could this be the same team that one lost one very close game to Ohio st? The same team that dismantled Notre Dame? I guess Michigan has a curse when it comes to bowl games. I really do think it is too long between the last regular season game and the bowl game. At least Notre Dame lost 41-14 in their bowl game and has worse luck in bowl games. That helps me feel just a little bit better, but not really all that much.

Still #2

Danielle and I travelled deep into Buck-eye territory last saturday, to join our good friends, Brian, Ben & Ann, Patrick, Nathan and Sarah, along with a host of their friends to cheer on (with a few exeptions) Michigan. I did enjoy the game dispite the fact we were 3 point short. The BCS poll in all it's glory still has Michigan ranked #2. I guess that make sence since, this game was infact the national championship game. If Notre Dame can beat USC, then there is a good chance their will be a rematch. I said before the game saturday that a rematch would not be good for college football. But I guess I will not argue with a rematch, so go Irish!

Michigan #6 4&0

Michigan won again yesterday over Wisconsin!! Notre Dame came from way behind at beat Michigan St, which I wish I could listened to on the radio on the way home, but the static got the worse of it, so I tuned into the Kentucky game to hear them lose. Ohio St won again. All top 6 teams kept their previous weeks ranks. Unless #14 (4&0) Iowa upsets Ohio St, it look very likely that next week the top six will stay the top six.

Still the best... Hail to the Victors

I just finished up watching my first college football. #11 Michigan upset #2 Notre Dame 46-21 in South Bend. A lot was on the line in this game including, which team would have the best all time wining percentage. Before the game Michigan had a .0006658 percentage point lead over Notre Dame. I am very pleased that Michigan pounced on Notre Dame. Hopefully more W's will be added to Michigan's Totals this season. The question at hand: was Michigan that good or Notre Dame that bad. The Michigan defence was tough be they gave up 2 TDs to long ND drives, Michigan made some mental mistakes late in the game. Michigan's offence was fantasist most of the time. Notre Dame made a lot of *huge* mistakes throughout the who game. Overall Michigan had a great game and I look forward to a great rest of the season.

Jumping ahead a bit...

I looked at Ohio State's Schedule and Michigan's Schedule at it well within the possibilities that both teams could come into their November 18th match up at Ohio St *undefeated* and possibly ranked #1 and #2 it would be a *game for the ages* since Michigan and Ohio are arch rivals. $1500 for tickets anyone?

Kentucky Football Concessions

Each year my church runs a concession stand for every University of Kentucky Foot Ball home game. The church gets roughly 10% of the net sales, which we use to help fund the youth missions trips. This is my 3rd time volunteering . It is a lot of work we left at 2:30 and arrived home at 11:30. But I did enjoy working with the youth and adults of the church. I think that is is fun to be at the games and feel all the energy. Last week Kentucky was on ESPN's waiting list for the Bottom ten. Much to my surprise Kentucky Beat Texas St 41-7. The sea of humanity all wearing Blue and White in the stands was much more excited than dejected as I have seen in the past.

In other collage football news Michigan is 2-0 ranked in the top ten, Notre Dame is 2-0 ranked in the top five, and Ohio State is 2-0 and Ranked #1 after soundly beating #2 Texas yesterday. Michigan plays Notre Dame next weekend so that will be a huge test for Michigan, my all time favorite football team. Go Blue!!
