Summer 100K Bike Hike 2009

Our 100K bike hike turned into a 102.2K bike hike complete with blown tire, taking a wrong turn, rain, and a peddle mishap. All 5 of us had a wonderful time, full of memories and adventure. I'm going to start planning the fall bike hike soon.

Bike Hike Spring 2009

Brian, Ben, and Patrick joined me in a 41 mile bike hike today. We started in Lebanon and completed the Lebanon trail, then we took the Little Miami Trail to Xenia. This was the first time I've been on the Lebanon trail. The trail was fun. There were mile markers every tenth of a mile, which was nice. Most of the trail doesn't follow old Rail Road tracks, so it was hillier than normal. I advice starting in downtown Lebanon, you will enjoy a very nice down hill, just watch out of a stop sign at the bottom of the hill. Part of the trail is a shared road with nice wide shoulders.

Midway through March

Spring is almost here in South West Ohio.

* The robin that keeps trying to peck his way through my office window is back
* I have seen a couple of garage sales.
* There have been a few warm days in the 60's and 70's,
* Day light saving time is here. (Lily just doesn't understand leaping ahead and going to bed when the sun is still up.)

Yesterday, I spent many hours fixing our ever faithful, but noisy '94 Saturn. I told Danielle I hoped to be done in an hour. Hope and reality are two different things, at least for me. I'm sure a saved well north of $100 and it only cost me a Saturday morning and half an afternoon, and some blood. Lily is also enjoying Spring and going to the *gark*. Enjoy the pictures.

Roof is fixed

Living Life Richly on the Cheap

Friends.

Thanks to Ben we now have our roof fixed and better than ever. The plan was for me to help Ben fix my roof. He and his family put a new roof on his house and it survived the wind storm. As it turned out, Ben did it all by himself, what an amazing friend. Danielle was sick on Friday and I then I woke up very sick today. I was flat on my back most of the day. Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day.

The contractor wanted $750 to fix my roof. I paid $55 for the shingles. Ben and Ann will getting a nice gift from us.

Pictures!

It's been a good week, full a new things for Lily. She was able to play in our backyard with the sprinkler, which she really enjoyed. Thursday was Cedarville's Faculty Staff picnic. Lily and I got the play on the huge inflatable slide. On Friday, I was able to go to the Greene County Fair and enjoy the demolition derby. Enjoy the pictures.

Stufff Christians Like & This is Zimbabwe

Stufff Christians Like

A friend of mine recommended reading this blog site. It is excellently written, very accurate and brutally honest. Stufff Christians like may very well consume vast amounts of your time as you reflect and relate to the modern American protestant church.

This is Zimbabwe

This blog chronicles the day-to-day struggles of living in Zimbabwe with inflation running about 10 million percent. Warning: The blog does contain very graphic pictures of the political violence gripping Zimbabwe.
